The borehole at Xibi Le Mpisi drilled in May by Imvelo has recently  been fitted with a new Kolaskar engine and Mono pump by Senior Ranger Owen Mangwana from Main Camp National Parks and pumping started on 26 July. This hole replaces the collapsed borehole at Makona that is the most southerly permanent waterhole in Hwange National Park. Apart from providing water for all the wildlife in this area it also provides water for the very important Ranger base at  Makona. Thirsty elephant are pouring into the waterhole from the south and west of the park. The youngsters in particular are relishing plenty of swimming and bathing.
